Assembly was a little difficult when it came to lining up the holes for the legs which were preassembled in pairs. The reason for my low rating for this product however, is that the cross braces which came connected to the pairs of legs came apart soon after giving the chairs very moderate use. Obviously, the Malasian manufacturer failed to use quality glue to keep the prassembled cross pieces in place. I knew they would require assembly-- I was dreading putting them together, with the spindles and all... but, they shipped partially assembled! It only took 5 minutes to put one together. The seat and seat back were pre-assembled! Compareable to chairs at local stores that cost 3 and 4 times more than these.
